Yoga Nidra - Deep Rest Meditation 

We live in a world that encourages 'doing' and striving .... and can easily forget how to balance that with 'being' and resting. Yoga Nidra is a very accessible and easy form of deep meditation that allows you to truly be and rest. It is an age old practice, with very feminine roots; even a single one-off practice feels nurturing.

Yoga Nidra deep rest meditation is done lying down, and through body and breath awareness it helps you move to brainwave states that are truly restorative and normally only found through sleep. 

​

The true benefits come from a regular practice and can include:

About me

Hi I'm Emily.

 

For many years I worked in financial services in London. I was always doing - working long hours, always busy, moving fast. Following a relocation to Manchester I stepped away from the corporate world.

 

I have always been curious about meditation and have explored different types over the years. When I found Yoga Nidra - Deep Rest Meditation, I knew I had come home.​

 

It brought me balance and ease. After many years of always being lost in my thoughts, it helped me to feel grounded and embodied. It blew away the clouds in my head and allowed me to find myself beneath the mental chatter and baggage that life layers on your shoulders.​​

 

I am also trained in breathwork with Alan Dolan (BreathGuru) and sometimes combine gentle techniques with my teaching of Yoga Nidra.​

 

I started Embody Breath to help women experience how Yoga Nidra Deep Rest Meditation can help you find who you truly are and what you want.

I run a small number of taster sessions which are designed to help you experience Yoga Nidra. However the real benefits come from a regular practice. 

Yoga Nidra deep rest meditation for You

​

​If you decide you would like to explore this experience of deep rest further, then I can support you on a one to one basis to help build a regular practice. We work together over a 3 month period, meeting 5 times to meditate, explore a theme and possibly integrating a gentle breathwork technique. You are given a meditation after each session recorded by me for you to practice until we next meet.

​

One to one sessions last between 75 and 90 minutes and take place either in my home in Bowdon, Cheshire or on Zoom. 

​

This style of meditation is perfect for those who are new to meditation. As someone who came to Yoga Nidra after many years of meditating, I also know its benefits for those who are more experienced. If this is you, or if you have completed my 3 month course, then I also offer a Going Deeper course, where we work together over a longer period.​​​​

Group sessions

For those who would rather be part of a group, I run similar courses but in small groups of up to four people at a time.

I know from personal experience how a busy work life can lead one further and further away from experiencing true rest. But rested leaders are those that that know how to pause, be centred, receptive and guide the way for others.  â€‹â€‹
